As Sly Inc. transitioned over its 142 year history, the company began making pulse jet dust collectors the need for more traditional round cages were required. In 1995 (confirm) Sly Inc. vertically integrated dust collector cage manufacturing into their Mississippi manufacturing facility where they made cages for their own use.
A few years after this investment, other users of dust collector cages came knocking on Sly’s door and before they knew it Sly had become a cage supplier to end users and other dust collector OEM’s. Over the years this area of the business grew and in January of 2014 (confirm) Windsor Wire LLC was formed as a sister company to Sly Inc. This business continued to grow and Windsor Wire invested further into more cage manufacturing equipment.
2016 has proven to be a breakout year for Windsor Wire. In March of 2016 Windsor Wire purchased the Williamsport, MD cage manufacturing business of Babcock and Wilcox headquartered in Barberton OH. A few months later, in June of 2016, Windsor Wire purchased 100% of the engineering resources and cage manufacturing equipment of Midwesco Filter Resources Inc.
These two acquisitions, along with continued organic growth, has positioned Windsor Wire LLC as one of North America’s leading cage suppliers.
Windsor, by the way, was the name of the street where Bill, Ted and Jim Kurz grew up. Ted is Sly’s owner.
